Here are some signs of storm damage to look for if your area has seen recent severe weather:

1. First and foremost, did you have a tree branch fall on your roof? If so, there might be underlying damage, depending on the weight of the branch and the way it fell. 
2. The second and most obvious type of damage you can check for is missing shingles. Any number of shingles missing from your roof can result in leaks and damage to the sheeting and underlying structures if left untreated. 
3. Were your window screens damaged during the storm? If they were, that is a good indicator that the storm was strong enough to have damaged your roof as well and it might be a good idea to get an inspection.
4. Have you noticed little granules of material in your driveway or on your sidewalk? Those might be particles from your shingles indicating they have started to lose their integrity.
5. Have your neighbors all hired roofing contractors shortly after the storm? If so, it’s likely your roof sustained damage too.
